Every encouragement to vote is partisan. There is no incentive just to have a bunch of ignorant people go vote. In fact, there's plenty of disincentive to having the unwashed masses vote.
Any movement to encourage apathetic, low-info voters who can't be bothered to get their crap together enough to vote is looking to get people into the "here's more free stuff" column. The behavior of Twitter and Facebook these last couple of days shows what side they're on.

ReplyDeleteI see "disfranchisement" used a lot which implies an effort to keep them from the polls. Not sure by who except for themselves.
